This guide will show you how to set up Hosted Exchange in Outlook 2016 on your Local Computer
NOTE: Unlike previous versions of Outlook in order to use Exchange in Outlook 2016 you must have your autodiscover records set correctly on your domain. Without Autodiscover it will not work. Step 1: Go to your Start Menu/Start Screen
Step 2: Search for Control Panel
Step 3: Select Mail (32-bit)
Step 4: Click New
Step 5: Name your New Profile
Step 6: Enter your Name, Email Address, and the Password for your Email Address. Click Next
Step 7: It will then start to search for your account/server settings. (This is why Autodiscover is now required, without it set it will fail here)
Step 8: It will prompt you for your password. The username must be your full email address. The password is your normal email password. Enter these and hit OK. (Note: You can ask it to remember your password at this point)
Step 9: It will then complete and present you with this screen. Click Finish
Step 10: You will then go back to this screen. If you need to add an additional mailbox now select “Email Accounts” and repeat the previous steps. If not click Close.
Step 11: Go back to your Start Screen/Menu
Step 12: Search for Outlook 2016 and Open it.
Step 13: The splash screen will appear and load Outlook. At this point, if Outlook isn’t set to remember your password it will prompt you at this point.
Step 14: Outlook set up is now complete and you can use Outlook 2016 to View & Manage your emails.
On your Local Computer, you may require offline/cached mode. To Turn this on follow these steps: Step 15: Select the File Tab
Step 16: Select The “Account Settings” Box
Step 17: Then the “Account Settings” option from the dropdown
Step 18: Highlight the account and select the Change Option
Step 19: Check the box for “Use Cached Exchange Mode
Step 20: It will prompt you that you’ll need to restart Outlook.
Step 21: Hit Finish and Restart Outlook
You may not see all your mail instantly when you restart as Outlook needs to download a copy of all your emails from the server.
